The potency of words

                              The potency of words

Scientifically Sound therapy is physio acoustics using frequencies of sound to create sympathetic vibration in the deep regions of the body.
Sound (music), healing and spirituality have had a connection since the beginning of human history. Chanting is used across cultures to alter states of mind. And prayers are usually sung or chanted. Among them chanting of God's name to invoke His grace is easy for the common man.
Once Vivekananda was explaining to his audience the power of words in chanting to invoke God's grace and kindness. One rationalist among the audience stood up and challenged Swami Vivekananda, " The words are mere sounds , group of mere syllables and nothing else. How can they procure God's kindness ? It is all a myth ."
To teach him a practical lesson, Vivekananda started addressing him by various words such as fool, stupid, idiot, rascal etc. The rationalist became intolerant and became red with anger and started to attack Vivekananda physically, " How dare you such dirty words against me ."
Vivekananda replied calmly , " why are you so upset and hitting me . I did not throw stones or sticks at you . I have not harmed you. I merely used some words. They are just words only. Why are getting angry without any valid reason ? "
The rationalist felt ashamed for his behaviour and realized the potency of words in eliciting different kinds of emotions. He became convinced that loving words uttered with faith to God will definitely result in getting His grace and kindness.
