Path way to God

                                  Path way to God

A thief wanted to see God. So he went to a saint and asked him to show the path to reach God. The saint said that it was very difficult for him to tread the path to reach God.  When the thief was persistent, the saint asked him to carry a load of six heavy stones on his head and climb the steep hill in front of him to reach the top where he could have a vision of God. The determined thief started climbing the hill with that heavy load. After some time, he felt very tired and could not go further. The pious man asked him to drop one stone from his head and move further. The thief felt a little relieved. After some time when he found it difficult to go further, the saint asked him to drop one more stone and climb up. Likewise he was asked to drop one stone after some distance. In this manner, when he covered three- fourth of the distance he had dropped all the six stones. After this he felt himself so light that he reached the top joyfully enjoying every step without feeling of any burden. At the top, the nature was superb. In that freshness of air and purity around he found unique relaxation and peace.

The saint explained to him the secret. The six stones represent the six enemies of man namely desire, anger, greed, delusion, passion and jealousy. As long as they bind a person he can never reach God. When he gives up all these snares, the path leading to God becomes smooth and joyful.
